On Wednesday, me and Christopher went house hunting. and we have found the most little charming house, the landlord Greg is getting back with us on Sunday about whether he will let us rent or not. So if you think about us at all, say a little pray for us.
Our address would be 123 College, which I think is fitting since we are both going back to school! I am going to finish my B.F.A and he is entering into a Post-Bach online degree to get his ESL teaching certificate, which has been a long time goal of his - so I am super excited and proud of him!
It has the most adorable back yard, with a gnome, a shed, and vines growing everywhere, it looks really magical. and I would love to host backyard dinners.
The bathroom has a claw foot tub. A CLAW FOOT TUB!! really, it does. and it's super cute and the floor has black and white tiles. retro adorable.
Greg, who would be our landlord is a librarian and brews his own beer. Love. both. of. those. things.
It comes with appliances! Fridge, Microwave, and washer/dryer combo!
It has wood floors.
Big kitchen with lots of cabinet space!
A sun room that opens from the master bedroom
And my personal favorite, it has a screened in front porch!
It's a two bedroom, one bath, it's on the smaller size, but I like that, it's very charming and cozy.
So fingers crossed. and prayers lifted high.

pumpkin village
a couple of weeks ago Christopher surprised me with tickets to the dallas arboretum! It's no shocker that I love surprises, and he is really good at surprising me. he is so romantic, sometimes I feel like the luckiest girl in the whole world. so naturally i was excited, but when we pulled up and he announced that during the fall it has the largest pumpkin patch and has the only pumpkin village in the world, i was just giddy. man, he's good.
the arboretum was beautiful, it overlooked white rock lake and was acres of woodsy secrets that we got to explore, there was even a poetry garden! and it had all of these little pumpkin houses that you could go inside and sit and talk if you wanted to, all named after fairy tales like cinderella and the legend of sleepy hollow, it was so adorable. and there were pumpkins and gourds everywhere!! I really want to go back around Christmas time and see how they spice the place up, I can just imagine it with Christmas trees and lights everywhere! It is naturally a very beautiful place, I just love to see how the seasons have an effect on a place. i love date days with Christopher, he usually works nights and will have a random day off during the week, so we always try to make that day a little special! we ended the day by eating stuffing ourselves at karma cafe, this funky eclectic place with the best hummus i have ever had! mmm, it was so good, with a food coma to follow!

a love letter
while waiting for my plane back to Texas
i discovered this little love letter in my purse from my husband
Things I will miss while you're gone:
your smile
your laugh
your face
cuddling
waking up next to you
you being at freebirds waiting for me to get off
you whispering 'sushi'
you making fun of my shirts
your dramatic and entertaining exaggerations
playing games with you
your red hair
talks that we have
your presence in the room with me
sharing food with you
holding your hand while driving
you saying, 'no. no' when i tickle you.
your humor
the way you smell
the way you make me feel
what i will miss the most:
YOU. i love you.

i love when Monday's feel like Saturday's
we made omelets (mine a white-egg omelet) with onions, mushrooms, green chilies, and black beans
and spent the entire day enjoying my husband's company, laughing at silly inside jokes, holding hands,
playing scrabble outside, drinking iced milky-way hazelnut lattes,
and eating pomegranates.

update on paige!
last night we talked to Paige and she sounded so so much better than the first day. she actually stood up and grew about 3 inches! she is as tall as Christopher's mom now, and of course taller than me. that girl is such a trooper, the nurse came in and told her to sit up and tears just fell down her face because of the pain, so she had to lay back down again. But, being the determined lady she is, about 2 hours later she wanted to try again, and actually stood up for one whole minute! we are so proud of you Paige!
four times today, as part of her rehabilitation, she has to walk to a chair and sit down in it. before she is released from the hospital, she has to walk up and down a flight of stairs and she has to walk up and down the hall of the nurses station. Paige will be getting discharged either Monday or Tuesday, please continue to pray for healing, endurance and strength as she continues her rehabilitation, and that God would continue to use this to reveal himself to Paige and everyone else.
We Love you Paige!
Please know that you are cherished by us and that we wish from the bottom of our hearts that we could be there with you right now as you endure these things. You are always on our hearts and we are praying for you.
love,
m
