mother's day
on my first official mama's day, my heart was overflowing with love and pride. i was on cloud nine the entire day, as my husband layed on the sweetness extra thick and honored my journey into motherhood in the sweetest way. i awoke to homemade cards, letters, breakfast, and many kisses from both of my loves.
papa bird planned a day of adventure and even a photoshoot for our family of three. we headed to the same spot where we had some of our maternity photos taken, built a similar boho fort, and had a blast adding our little bird to the scene.
this place has become sacred to my heart, a little treasure that i will always bury deep inside my soul. i anticipate as years pass, and more little birds join our nest - we will be returning to this magical place. to capture the essence, joy, love, and connectedness of our growing family.

oh sweet motherhood
how quickly sparrow came into my life, a sweet wild breeze, enveloping my entire being and heart. here i am in the deep end, swimming in joy, love, and utter happiness. there is no turning back and no desire to. oh sweet motherhood, you have made me love louder, more fierce and with beautiful freedom and grace. this journey of motherhood, has humbled me and taught me a kind of bravery i have never known , truly a gift from my creator.
to my beautiful little sparrow. it is an honor to be called your 'ma-ma' everyday. you have brought the most joyful love into our home, a love that keeps growing. .and my darling husband, chirstopher. you are truly the best part of my life. thank you for being a loving and kind man, one i can lean on through the ups and downs of this journey. being a mama has been my greatest, most rewarding adventure and i thank both of you so much for giving me the chance to become one. i am so very lucky to have both of you.
happy mother's day to all you amazing mothers, motherly figures and future mamas out there! and a special thank you to my own beautiful mama and mother-in-law who i love so dearly. i am so thankful for both of you, the mountains of love you pour out into our lives, is truly an inspiration.

mama's day.
this was my first mama's day and i was on the moon! i woke up so happy and encouraged, my smile didn't leave my face all day. there was a homemade card and a little love letter (my absolute favorite!) from my husband. fox in socks, my all time favorite dr.seuss book, not to mention a couple of other cute little books for me and the little bird. a beautiful fern. a lovely hope chest from my own sweet mama, who came down from austin to visit for the weekend.and a yummy thoughtful dinner cooked by my lovely husband for me and my mama. it was such a lovely sunday.
right now, my little bird is safely tucked on the inside, and i cannot even begin to fathom what it really means to be a mother. sometimes the thought of becoming a mother scares me, but mostly it excites me and encourages me to daily surrender to my creator. resting in the knowledge that he is leading me through this journey, and he desires even greater things for me that i could never think up or even imagine for myself. we may not have everything figured out, and we may not be abounding in what the world would consider riches, but we are overflowing in the things that matter: love, joy, mercy, and more adventure in our spirits than most have in their pinky. our hearts are open and willing to what the creator has for us through this season of stepping into parenthood.
happy mother's day to my sweet mama, the mama that raised my fun-loving, generous, kind, and handsome husband, and to all the mother's out there who are an encouragement to me!

to my mother
Because I feel that in the heavens above
The angels, whispering one to another,
Can find among their burning tears of love,
None so devotional as that of "Mother,"
Therefore, by that dear name I have long called you,
You who are more than mother unto me.
-Edgar Allan Poe
mother's love is peace. It need not be acquired, it need not be deserved. -Erich Fromm
A mother is one to whom you hurry when you are troubled. -Emily Dickinson
Happy Mothers Day Mama, how I longed to be in Austin on this day to hug you and tell you in person that I love you, and to tell you thank you. Thank you for all the sacrifices that you have have made for me, thank you for the endless love you have shown, so deep and so wide, even at times when I was ungrateful or to stubborn to see all that you were doing for me. Thank you for teaching me how to stand and to be strong and that it's okay not to have all the answers or to have everything figured out, that God is the one with all the answers and in his time will reveal those to us. Thank you for showing me how to sew and allowing me the freedom to be creative in all areas of my life, especially how I dressed as a child. Thank you for working all those years just to make ends meet, and putting yourself through school, and through that showing me that it's not too late to turn around. It's not too late to make positive changes. Thank you for letting me go, and wander off in the world finding my own, and supporting the choices I have made. Thank you for loving my husband. I more than anything, just want to say thank you for loving me. I love you Mom.
Love,
Meg
